About the Project

Building a playground that grows with our community.

Walden Public School is proud to be working with CRCS Recreation, a trusted local business, to design and install our new playground. The equipment (supplied by Miracle Recreation) has been carefully chosen to inspire active play, creativity, and connection for students of all ages.

As you can imagine, playgrounds of this size and quality require significant investment. That’s why we’ve divided the work into three phases to ensure we can move forward as fundraising milestones are reached. This phased approach allows us to bring new play features to life as soon as possible, while continuing to build toward our ultimate vision of a complete, inclusive, and environmentally conscious play space for all.

How You Can Help

Each phase brings us closer to a playground that reflects the spirit and values of the Walden community. A place where students, families, and neighbours can connect and play for generations to come.

Your donation makes this possible.

Tiered Approach

Phase 1 — Completed September 2025

Our first major milestone is already bringing joy to the school yard!
Phase 1 includes a new overhead climber structure and a play structure with a slide, giving students a safe, engaging place to climb, explore, and play together.

Total cost: approximately $78,000

Walden Playground Phase 2 Rendering

Phase 2 — Underway Now

Phase 2 is the largest and most exciting step in our project. It will add a taller play structure with a large twirly slide and a shaded roof feature, expanding both the fun and accessibility of the playground.

This phase will truly transform the space — but we can’t do it without your support.

Anticipated cost: $151,000

Phase 3 — The Final Touch

Once Phase 2 is complete, we’ll move into the finishing stage of our grand playground vision.

Phase 3 will add two smaller play components — a large spinner and STEM-inspired sensory panels — to encourage cooperative play, balance, and discovery.

Anticipated cost: $30,000
